  3.         Thank you for your interest in "EIS, Economic Insulation
  4.         Selection".
  5.  
  6.         EIS, (E)conomic (I)nsulation (S)election is a complete, stand-
  7.         alone software package for establishing economic selection of
  8.         thermal insulation systems.
  9.  
  10.         Five design programs are provided in the EIS software package.
  11.         The main sizing programs, EPI (Economic Pipe Insulation) and EEI
  12.         (Economic Equipment Insulation) use thermal and financial
  13.         information to identify optimum insulation sizing for piping and
  14.         equipment systems respectively. EPIDB and EEIDB (EPI and EEI
  15.         DataBases) are the cost database programs for each respective sizing
  16.         program, and allows the user to customize program cost files for
  17.         special circumstances. EPILOSS is a heat loss calculation program
  18.         and simplifies the analysis of piping system heat losses.

  22.         1.  Shareware Notice:

  24.             With this notice you are granted permission to make, share and
  25.             distribute unmodified copies of this EIS shareware program disk
  26.             and on-disk manual. Shareware is a low cost alternative to
  27.             commercially available software programs. Please support
  28.             shareware by becoming a registered user.

  30.             A licensed copy of EIS can be obtained by printing the included
  31.             order form, ORDER.DOC, completing the form, and including a one-

  46.             An on-disk manual is supplied in a file called "MANUAL.DOC"
  47.             (ASCII format). To print the contents of this file, type: COPY
  48.             MANUAL.DOC PRN at the DOS prompt (press ENTER), or use your word
  49.             processor to print the documentation.

  51.         2. The EIS database programs, EEIDB and EPIDB, should EACH be copied
  52.            to another disk and the EPI and EEI cost data files (files with
  53.            a *.DAT extension) copied respectively to each working disk.  The
  54.            above directions assumes the use of low density 5 1/4" disks.

  56.         3. Cost Adjustments For Supported Database Pipe Sizes
  57.  
  58.            In order to maintain simplified cost database files, cost data
  59.            is based on nominal diameter pipe sizing. When outside pipe
  60.            diameters are entered, the cost data will be adjusted based on
  61.            the next largest supported pipe size. After financial data entry,
  62.            a status window will alert the user to the cost adjustment and
  63.            the supported pipe size, in inches.

  65.         4. Version Information
  66.  
  67.            Version 1.0 was written and distributed as a beta test version.
  68.            Version 2.0 was upgraded with external cost files and support
  69.             databases required for cost file revisions.
  70.            Version 2.1 was enhanced with the EPILOSS program addition.
  71.            Version 2.2 is the current version and includes additional
  72.             insulation sizing software for flat insulation. Other
  73.             enhancements include graphical displays, metric capability,
  74.             and added user help screens.
